n    Shotcreting & Sprayed Mortar

 

The Concrete Committee of Japan Society of Civil Engineers published three research reports related to shotcreting and sprayed mortar in July 2005 (in Japanese) as follows:

 

Ø       Recommendation for Shotcreting for Tunnels by NATM Method –Draft

Ø       Recommendation for Shotcreting “Slope Stabilization” –Draft

Ø       Recommendation for Sprayed Mortar for Repair and Strengthening of Existing Structure –Draft

 

English versions are scheduled to be published in March 2006.

 

 

 

n    State-of-the-Art Report on the Countermeasures for Damage Due to Alkali-Silica Reaction Rupture of Reinforcing Bars

 

A road bridge pier suffering from severe ASR.

 

A ruptured shear reinforcement at the corner, and a longitudinal bar with failed pressure welding.

 

The Concrete Committee of Japan Society of Civil Engineers published a research report entitled “State-of-the Art Report on the Countermeasures for Damage Due to Alkali-Silica Reaction” in August 2005 (in Japanese).  A part of a related summary is available here (PDF) in English.
