企画テーマ 企画テーマ(英訳)	ドライブ観光 Driving Tourism
企画概要	最近，少人数でレンタカーや自家用車をつかったドライブ観光が増加している．ドライブ観光は，従来のバス観光より自由度が高く，いままで以上に広範に観光周遊が可能であるため，地域の潜在的な魅力を顕在化させる効果が期待されている．一方，地域の細部にまで至るため，思わぬ所で交通渋滞を発生させたり，地域住民との摩擦，CO2の排出量増加を懸念する声もある． このようなドライブ観光について，観光交通による交通渋滞，地域への経済効果，外国人を含むドライブ観光客への支援方策，地域のホスピタリティ，地球環境への配慮などを中心に，事例報告を交えて幅広い視点から議論を行い，今後の施策展開や必要となる研究課題の抽出・整理を行う．
企画概要(英訳)	In recent years, a number of tourists who enjoy small group driving tours by private or rental car is increasing. Driving tours enable tourists to travel around wider area more flexibly, compared with conventional bus tours. Such features of driving tourism are expected to elicit potential regional tourism resources. On the other hand, because driving tours can cover more destinations in wider area than conventional large group tours due to driving tours’ flexibility in mobility and trip schedule, they may bring about problems including unusual traffic jams, annoyances for local residents and an increase in local CO2 emissions. This session is aiming at taking up issues with regard to driving tourism to discuss them from a wide point of view through some case studies to identify its challenges and advantages to develop driving tourism towards the future. The issues to be discussed include: traffic jams caused by driving tourism, its economic effect, assistance to driving tourists including those from overseas, local hospitality encouragement, and considerations for minimize global warming effects.
