How to register !
The 55th JSCE Annual Meeting will be held in September 21-23, 2000 at Tohoku University. The registration processes for submitting papers and participation, the registration fees and the proceedings has fundamentally been changed. Please carefully read new schedule, qualification for registration and fees as shown in the following pages. Then register according to the corresponding procedure as soon as possible:
■Submit of papers on WWW siteAll authors who will submit papers are required to register on the JSCE WWW site in principle. Only the files of PDF type will be accepted. The fee is 10,000 yen and 7,000 yen for general members and student members, respectively. The fee includes all expenses of submitting a paper, participation and CD-ROM proceedings. Therefore, it is not necessary to pay off a participation fee at the meeting place. Please refer the JSCE home page http://www. jsce.or.jp to have further information.
■Submit of papers by mailJSCE still allows non-users of the Internet to submit printed papers. The fee is, however, more expensive, i.e. 15,000 yen and 12,000 yen for individual members and student members, respectively, because of the translation cost of the printed papers into PDF files. The fee includes all expenses of submitting a paper, participation and CD-ROM proceedings. Therefore, it is not necessary to pay off the participation fee at the meeting place.
■AudienceThe registration for audience is also required prior to the meeting in principle. The fee is 10,000 yen and 7,000 yen for individual members and student members, respectively. The fee includes both expenses of participation and CD-ROM proceedings. The fee will become higher after the deadline. It is recommended to have CD-ROM proceedings by registering before the meeting, because of no service for reading the CD-ROM at the meeting place.
■Printed proceedingsYou can buy printed proceedings as before by ordering prior to the meeting. The proceedings are restrictedly printed as many as the number of orders. Therefore, the number of the proceedings which will be sold at the meeting place is limited.
