本年6月にハワイで開催される，TRBの2nd International Symposium on Freeway and Tollway Operations のお知らせです．
本シンポジウムは，Freeway Operations Committee (AHB20), Committee on Highway Capacity and Quality of Service (AHB40), and Committee on Traffic Control Devices (AHB50)の合同開催によるものです．

Dear Traffic and Transportation Academics, Professionals and Students,
This is a friendly reminder that the student paper competition papers and the abstracts for proposed presentations for the the 2nd International Symposium on Freeway and Tollway Operations are due February 16, 2009. No further extensions will be made and the technical program will be completed and posted by the end of March 2009.
The 2ISFO is conducted under the aegis of the Transportation Research Board, the Federal Highway Administration of the U.S. DOT, the International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association, the Rijkswaterstaat of the Dutch Ministry of Transportation, and the College of Engineering at the University of Hawaii in close cooperation with the Hawaii State Department of Transportation.

The competition includes both awards and travel expenses.
2ISFO also announced a special $1,000 award for the best presentation on freeway, corridor or managed lane simulation. If you feel that your abstract qualifies for this, please indicate so in your submission.
Note that we secured an additional discount from the Hyatt Regency Waikiki: the room rate dropped from $196 to $177 per day and it is valid for up to ten days including the four days of the conference.
