概要	Summary
霞橋は，旧江ヶ崎跨線橋（平成21年撤去）のうち，日本鉄道土浦線（現常磐線）隅田川橋梁（明治29年竣工）から使われていたプラットトラス2連から，損傷の少ない鋼材および支承を再利用し，横浜市中区新山下運河に架かる道路橋に移設したものである．再利用したプラットトラス橋は，日本国内で鋼材が使われ始めた明治中期で最大規模，当時の様式と異なるラチス状の対傾構やコッターピン（楔）を有する格点部等が特徴であり，歴史的価値が高いと評価されていた．以上のように、本橋これらの技術は，今後の橋梁技術の発展に大きく寄与するものと考えられることから、土木学会田中賞に値するものと認められた。	The Kasumi Bridge is a road bridge spanning the Shin-Yamashita Canal in Naka-ku, Yokohama City. Its construction involved the relocation and reuse of undamaged steel members and bearings salvaged from two sections of a historic Pratt truss bridge (built in 1896) that carried the Nippon Railway Tsuchiura Line (the present Joban Line) and was later readapted for the construction of the former Egasaki Railway Overpass (demolished in 2009). The Kasumi bridge, which should contribute significantly to the development of future bridge technology, deserves the Japan Society of Civil Engineers Tanaka award.
