| 仙台空港アクセス鉄道は、JR東北本線名取駅から東北の国際拠点空港である仙台空港に至る延長7.1kmの鉄道で、平成19年3月18日開業した。建設にあたっては新しい技術・施工法の採用、まちづくり関連事業との連携等によりコスト縮減と工期短縮に取り組み、約20％のコスト縮減を実現するとともに、実質2年半で完成し、大幅な工期短縮を実現して事業便益の早期発現に大きく寄与した。この鉄道の完成により、仙台空港へのアクセスが大幅に向上するとともに、沿線においては大型商業施設、文化交流施設、住宅・マンションの建設など、当該鉄道整備の重要な目的である空港を核とする「仙台空港臨空都市」の形成が着々と進んでいる。 | Sendai Airport Access Line (SAAL) that is 7.1 km long connecting between the major regional and international airport Sendai Airport in northeastern Japan and JR Natori station started service on March 18, 2007. Cutting-edge construction technology and coordination with urban development projects enabled the SAAL project to be done with 20% reduced costs in two and a half years, which produced the smooth progress and completion of the project earlier than scheduled. The SAAL has greatly improved the access to the Sendai Airport. In addition, it has been making contributions to the area's development to be a "Sendai Airport City" including a large-scale business/ shopping complex, cultural facilities and housing, which is one of the initial targets of the SAAL project. |
